Community creation “Dramas+ Barrio Usera” (2024)
I participated as assistant director in the project Aquarius Usera, MOVE Art For All (Elena López). This is a community art project carried out in the Almendrales neighborhood (Usera) over a three-month period (2017-2018) with different generations of the Chinese community and third-grade students at CEIP Nuestra Señora de la Fuencisla. Very different cultures from Latin American, Moroccan, Portuguese, Chinese, and Spanish backgrounds coexist daily at this school. It is a faithful representation of the melting pot of cultures found in the neighborhood.
The objective of Usera Aquarium is to create a bridge between three generations of different cultures through dialogue and creation. Through a series of artistic actions, they capture their common ground, their differences, their needs, and their concerns. This final action was part of the closing ceremony of the 2018 Chinese New Year celebrations in Usera.
